Description
Smike is a stunning musical in two acts, written and composed in 1971 by Roger Holman and Simon May. It has all the ingredients for your performance in school or amateur dramatics society. A lively pop musical, it is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ celebrated novel Nicholas Nickleby. The story sees a group of restless school children go back in time to the world of Charles Dickens and discover that there are plenty of advantages to living in the 20th century.
With memorable tunes and harmonies, plenty of movement, colour and humour, it is ideal for young performers and has been written specifically with a large cast of youngsters in mind.
