Description

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was widely regarded as the most expressive and technically adept virtuoso pianist of his generation. He was taught to play the Piano by his father, and started giving concert performances at the age of nine. He was also a prolific composer in the Romantic style. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his Piano compositions often require considerable technical dexterity.

The Piano Concerto No. 1 In Eb Major was written over a period of some 26 years, with the initial themes first written down in 1830, and the final revision in 1849. This version has had the orchestral part transcribed for a second Piano, enabling easy study or practiceof the solo part, or reference to the work as a whole.
