The major aims of Volume 1 are the establishment of a good tone and technique. This book hasbeen compiled by Howard Kasschau (author of the famous Kasschau Piano Course) from tutor books by by Cornelius Gurlitt, Louis Kohler and Ludvig Schytte among others, and include explanatory notes. Volume 1 contains studies 1-62.

Note on the difficulty rating of this book: since the book is progressive this is the level the book assumes at the beginning. Certainly some of the later studies would be useful to incorporate into daily practice untilamuch higher level.
