Complete Ballades Impromptus And Sonatas: Solo de Piano

Chopin’s four ballades, four impromptus and three sonatas are among the composer’s most mature works, rivalled only by his scherzos and polonaises for extended thematic development and formal structure. The eleven compositions inthis volume are drawn from Carl Mikuli’s comprehensive edition of Chopin’s complete works for piano. As Chopin’s student and, later, teaching assistant, Mikuli was in a privileged position to reflect on the master’s approach tokeyboard performance.
