Description

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was widely regarded as the most expressive and technically adept virtuoso pianist of his generation. He was taught to play the Piano by his father, and started giving concert performances at the age of nine. He was also a prolific composer in the Romantic style. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his Piano compositions often require considerable technical dexterity.

The Piano Concerto No. 2 In A Major was initially written in 1839, but revised four or more time before its final publication in 1861. It is formed of a single movement, divided into six sections. This version has had the orchestral part transcribed for a second Piano, enabling easy study or practice of the solo part, or reference to the work as a whole.
