A terrific set of pieces for a Woodwind Quartet by inspirational American composer, Elliot Carter. Completed in 1950, each Etude is different and they move through various moods and this work is an example of the music he wrote in an attempt to find his own distinctive musical voice.

This volume includes performance suggestions by Carter himself, conveying that the Fantasy must not be played on its own, but preceded by at least 3 Etudes. This is the complete score for Flute, Clarinet, Oboe and Bassoon.
