I bought this book on the recommendation of my friend who has been practicing the clarinet exercises in this for a while. He has progressed to more advanced stuff but still finds the exercises in this book very helpful to revise to keep his technique perfect. I have found it very useful so far.

These little pieces are graded form (I think) about 1 to 6, so the book will have a long life. As well as putting you through your paces technially, they're catchy and enjoyable to play, and cover a wide range of jazz and popular idioms.

Good variety of pieces to play getting more complex as progressing through the book with the last few being a challenge. Tumbledown Blues is my current favourite. It'd be nice if there were an accompanying CD to check that I have got some of the more complex rhythms correct.
