The 3 Miniatures for flute and piano is part of a series of pieces being written for all wind instruments. Although the first movement begins lyrically, in general the outer movements have a tendency to be rather angular and quirky. This is contrasted with the second movement, which is more lyrical and calm (although the flutist begins the second movement by playing into the piano). Anthony Plog
