Description

Basic drum set coordination can be learned very quickly using vocal sounds instead of written notes. Drums from Day One is an adaptation of the proven “solfege” technique to thedrumset.

“Solfege,” (singing musical notes with syllables) has been used for hundreds of years by teachers of virtually every other musical instrument. The traditional way of beginning the drums by studyingandanalyzing written drum notation and applying various notes to the four limbs is a complex task that takes a good deal of time. Although reading and writing music will also be covered in this book, beginners can get startedmuchfaster with the “solfege” system.

This is not a “quick fix” or a promise to make you a drum expert in one day, but this method has been tested and proven with hundreds of students over the yearsandit is very efficient and offers immediate results. The student will learn to play 8 songs in all the basic styles: Rock, Blues, Shuffle and Funk.

The songs are especially designed and graded for beginners, and arerecordedwith and without drums on the companion audio. Includes access to online audio containing recorded examples of all the exercises in the book.
